[Review] The Eighth House by Eris Adderly
Can the Goddess of Spring find happiness with a Lord of the Dead who needs control of his realm from the River Styx to the bedroom?
The Eighth House is a retelling of the Hades and Persephone story, but definitely not for those who only like Hades painted as the innocent in a misunderstood light. The Eighth House is darker, Hades rules with a bit of a temper, and the sex always has elements of BDSM.
This story follows the most popular version of the Hades/Persephone story - he kidnaps her, she becomes his wife but only spends six months of the year in the Underworld, that's how we get Spring, etc. But this version of the story details the darker side of Hades' world. Can the Goddess of Spring find happiness with a Lord of the Dead who needs control of his realm from the River Styx to the bedroom? Persephone isn't as innocent as the rest of Olympus would like to believe, and it may just take the God of the Underworld to unleash Persephone's true self and her potential.
The Eighth House is dark, passionate retelling of the classic Greek story. Recommended for those who like a bit more fire with their Hades and Persephone, or anyone who likes a controlling God in their realm.
