[Review] The Damned by Renée Ahdieh

The battle between the Fallen and the Brotherhood heats up in The Damned, the highly anticipated sequel to The Beautiful. Picking up after the fated ball from the first book, Bastien finds himself adjusting to his new life while trying to let his past, including Celine, go. But if there's one thing Celine hasn't forgotten from the last few months, it's her attraction to Bastien. When Celine finds herself teaming up with Bastien to confront ghosts from their past, they must decide if their love and their potential together is greater than the centuries-long war of which they now find themselves on opposing sides.

Written with the same engaging action and romance of her previous series, The Damned is an excellent follow-up to The Beautiful. Ahdieh takes readers on a journey both magical and romantic, drawing on both and myth and historic New Orleans, to bring the war between vampire, fae, and werewolf to life. This is definitely one YA series you don't want to miss out on.
