[Review] From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Poppy is the Maiden, the Chosen One, destined to be kept away from society and hidden behind a veil until she can be given to the Gods. But soon Hawke enters her life, and Poppy finds herself questioning everything she's known and everyone she's kept close. As secrets are revealed, Poppy is pulled from her old life straight into a world she thought no longer existed, surrounded by people she thought was the enemy.
I've never read a book by Jennifer L. Armentrout that I didn't immediately fall in love with, but From Blood and Ash is definitely on the top of my recommended JLA list. From Blood and Ash gives us mythology, action, adventure, romance, the supernatural, a strong female protagonist, a hot love interest who can - but doesn't need to - save the girl, and witty banter. There really is something for everyone in From Blood and Ash. And, at over 600 pages, it's sure to keep you busy and keep you up long past your bedtime. Five stars; I could not recommend this book more.
