[Review] Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
When Pepper and Jack started their senior year of high school, they thought college admissions would be their biggest hurdle. But when Pepper, whose mom is the CEO of one of the country's largest fast food chains, takes to Twitter to settle some drama over a new menu item, she didn't realize she'd be feuding online with real-life classmate Jack. As if Jack and Pepper's lives weren't already busy enough with homework, swim practice, and looming college applications, now they have an all-encompassing Twitter feud to fuel their waking hours - all thanks to their parents and the family business.
I really enjoyed Tweet Cute. I thought the characters were both very relatable (even though I am far removed from being a teenager); the pressures they both faced from their parents, their schools, and themselves was all very realistic, and both Pepper and Jack had wonderful character growth throughout the novel. I especially loved seeing Pepper grow from the grades-focused character she was at the beginning, to the happiness-focused character she turned out to be. The plot put the "cute" in Tweet Cute, and I would absolutely love a sequel following Jack and Pepper or any number of characters from the story.
