[Review] A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova

Long live Queen Luella!

Every one hundred years, a human is taken from her home to serve as the Human Queen and wife to the Elf King. With her magic hidden deep, Luella is unprepared when Eldas, the current Elf King, shows up and claims her as his bride. Now homesick and forced to serve the magics of the Elf world, Luella is determined to escape and stop the horrible cycle of Human Queens. But when the Elf world starts to feel like home and her husband the king starts to feel less like a stranger, will Luella return to the home she knew or stay in the home she's made for herself?

Told with engaging prose, A Deal with the Elf King is action packed, filled with magic and adventure, and has a beautiful slow burn romance between Luella and Eldas. There was great story and character development, with tension and emotion exactly where it needed to be. This was a wonderful find on Kindle Unlimited. I would love another book in this world focused on these characters, though; I feel like Eldas and Luella's story was truly just beginning.
