[ARC Review] Meant To Be Immortal by Lynsay Sands
Meant To Be Immortal is the 32nd book in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. For anyone who's read any of the books in this series, the plot outline will be familiar: immortal meets life mate, immortal has to woo life mate, trouble ensues and brings the two closer together, immortal and life mate end up blissfully together. And don't forget some hot bedroom scenes that will keep readers coming back for more.
In Meant To Be Immortal, readers meet Macon Argeneau, or Mac for short. Mac is a hematologist and brother of Katricia, making him one of Basil's 23 children that we learn about in Immortal Who Loved Me. When someone sets fire to Mac's house, CJ is asked by local police to step in and help investigate. There, at the scene of the crime, Mac realizes that CJ is his life mate and spends the rest of the novel learning about CJ's past and wooing her so they can both have their happily ever after.
As with every Argeneau novel, I was quickly interested and invested in the main couple's story. I knew they would end up together, but I just couldn't put the book down until I saw them through their trials and saw CJ accept Mac as her life mate. Sands' writing always grabs me; it's easy to get swept away into her story. Meant To Be Immortal also brings back some fan favorites from previous novels, simultaneously expanding this world that Sands has built and adding to previous character's stories while introducing the reader to Mac and CJ.
Meant To Be Immortal is another wonderful addition to the Argeneau series, and I can't wait for the next book!
A huge thanks to Avon Books and Netgalley for the chance to read Meant To Be Immortal in advance of its release date.
