[ARC Review] The Redo by Max Monroe

Publisher's synopsis:
Put a finger down if you’ve ever been a single woman who got stuck in a New York City elevator in the middle of a summer blackout with your former high school sweetheart—whom you haven’t seen in years—while pregnant with a baby that isn’t biologically yours. And you can’t believe how handsome that blast from your past is, so you unwittingly flirt with him a little even though your life is so crazy complicated you’re barely keeping your head above water, but everything about him makes you think you could totally still be in love with him.

*puts a finger down*

What? Just me?

Needless to say, my current status is thorny. And no, I didn’t miss how close that word is to another one.

Even though he’s the epitome of tall, dark, and incredibly handsome, Remington Winslow has been a single bachelor for most of his life. It’s clichéd and basic—until you consider the fact that once upon a terrible time, he got left at the altar.

He doesn’t do relationships. He definitely doesn’t fall in love.

And I’m just trying to survive a tangled web of unexpected motherhood and running one of the top real estate firms in the city that never sleeps.

He’s the jaded guy who doesn’t want to settle down, and I’m the career-focused woman with more baggage than a 747 can hold.

We’re just two friends who used to be in love.

Now, if someone would tell my hormones I’m not a teenager anymore, I’d be set.

My thoughts: I have been waiting for Remy's story for what feels like forever, and Max Monroe sure made the wait worth it.

Throughout Ty, Jude, and Flynn's stories, Remy was always in the background, observing as his brothers all fell in love and knowing he'd missed his chance when he was stood up at the altar fifteen years ago. I've needed Remy to get his happily ever after, and Maria Baros was just the woman to give it to him.

As the oldest Winslow brother, Remy is a protector and nurturer down to his core. We've seen it with his family, but he so easily gave that same care and commitment to Maria and her newborn when Maria came back into his life. The way Remy took care of Maria, both physically and emotionally? Reader, I ate that sh*t up.

The Redo was such a sweet second-chance romance. After standing on the side lines while all his younger siblings found their happiness, it had to take someone special to break through all the roadblocks Remy set up to keep from being hurt again. Maria came back into his life just at the right time.

If you've read any of the previous Winslow books (which I highly recommend in order to get the full picture during this book), or just any Max Monroe books in general, then you know to expect some amazing spice. The Redo is absolutely no exception to that, with Remy and Maria smoldering on the page. Oddly, though, I would have actually been completely okay had the whole book focused on all the ways Remy provided for Maria outside of the bedroom; the spice was definitely A+, but Remy was such a good caretaker that those scenes were just as hot as the actual spice.

Overall, The Redo was just a great read. It was pure culmination of the previous three books while also giving Remy the attention and HEA he's so deserved. Every Winslow ended up being my favorite after I read their book, and I'm really glad Max and Monroe ended with Remy. Watching the stern Remy of the previous books take a backseat to the loving protector was absolute perfection.

A huge thank you to Max Monroe for sharing an advanced copy of The Redo via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.
