[ARC Review] Taming the White Wolf by N.J. Walters
Publisher's synopsis: White wolf Devlin Moore has spent nearly the last century following his destiny: hunting rogue werewolves. His fate is to be the only one of his kind—hardened, feared, and brutally ruthless. Only now, Devlin’s not alone. There are two others. And if that wasn’t unsettling enough, Devlin is drawn to New York City for what appears to be a human…
As far as Devlin can tell, vibrant artist Zoe Galvani is no threat. But there’s something about her— from her unusual eyes that look similar to the same shocking hue as his own, to his growing need to mark her as his that suggests magical forces may be at play.
Now there’s no escaping each other, or the attraction that grows stronger by the second. But no one, especially a human woman, should have this effect on a lone wolf. And just when he’s sure that having her could be his undoing…the truth steps out of the shadows.

My thoughts: N.J. Walters is quickly becoming a favorite of mine when it comes to paranormal romance, and I can't wait to see where she takes this new werewolf series.
Devlin is the epitome of the lone wolf - quite literally in this instance. He is one of three immortal werewolves, destined to be alone and on the outskirts of every pack. Obviously, Devlin had the loner persona in spades, and Walters wrote him well. Zoe wasn't what I was expecting from a fated mates story; she ended up being much more self-sacrificing than I thought she would be, but she was the exact type of person that Devlin needed as a mate.
I found this story to be a quick read. There was a lot of action on the page, which in turn kept me turning the page to see what would happen next. I really liked that Walters kept Devlin and Zoe's story self-contained in this book, but also created a larger story that will, presumably, spill over into the other two wolves stories.
The writing was engaging, intriguing, and easy to get caught up in. Between the fated mates romance and the larger issues and action at play, I ended up devouring this one in just a couple sittings. Taming the White Wolf is a great paranormal romance for anyone who's looking for a different take on fated mates.
