[ARC Review] The Billionaire Orc by Lilith Stone

PUBLISHER'S SYNOPSIS:
What’s a girl to do when she’s stranded in paradise with a handsome, filthy rich orc?

That’s the dilemma realtor Shona Dove faces when a big green billionaire stomps into her life and demands she help him buy an island off the coast of Motham City. He’s buffed, he’s arrogant, and sexy as hell. And while Shona has never been attracted to Orcs before, there’s a first time for everything…

The last thing Tor Arquin wants is to return to the city that treated him like dirt. Except now his dad’s had an accident and his sister is demanding Tor comes home to help out. And despite his huge success, Tor still cares deeply for his orc kinship.

When Tor engages Shona to help him buy a home suited to a billionaire, he soon realises there’s another reason to want to return to Motham City. Her.

But will this beautiful, sophisticated human ever consider a hulking green orc as a mate? Particularly when her sleaze-bag vampire ex boyfriend still lurks in the shadows.

MY THOUGHTS: I've loved every character more and more with each new Motham City Monsters book, and Shona and Tor are no exception. I can't say for sure that I've ever read an orc romance before, but Lilith Stone sure opened my eyes to new possibilities in monster romance.

I love a good workplace romance, and with Shona working as Tor's realtor, this story essentially became an office romance with endless location possibilities. At its core, though, this sweet and spicy romance was about finding home, both within a location as well as with your person. I loved that both main characters were able to find their place in Motham City, a place where both Shona and Tor were decidedly "other." For Shona, finding success as a realtor meant escaping her past (and her past relationship troubles). For Tor, his return to Motham after striking it rich elsewhere allowed him to see that home is who you keep close and not the walls you build around you.

Stone beautifully paints a picture of what home truly means throughout Tor and Shona's romance, all while giving readers a good amount of spice. Stone's monster romances aren't what I'd consider over the top in terms of graphic detail, but readers definitely get to know the orc anatomy quite well in this story. The more I read of the Motham City Monsters, the more I appreciate the reoccurring themes of what makes someone a monster, even in a city full of them.

The Billionaire Orc was on the shorter side, at a little over two hundred pages, but Stone puts a lot of heart and self-discovery within these chapters. I thought Shona and Tor had a great foundation from start to finish, and I loved the little cameos from the first two books. Stone has effortlessly tied her series together with great writing, entertaining plots, and engaging characters. I can't wait to see what comes next for the citizens of Motham City!
